Skip Sizes & Prices

Skip Sizes & Prices Liverpool

Compare Liverpool skip sizes and clear hire prices for private property, roads and verges. From compact mini skips to large Roll-on Roll-off containers, we will help you choose the right option.

Choose the Right Skip Size for Your Project

Choosing the correct skip is important. Understanding skip sizes before booking can prevent the cost of an exchange or second hire, while avoiding a container that is much larger than necessary. Consider the type of waste, how bulky it is, whether heavy material such as soil or rubble is involved and how much space is available for delivery.

Our skip sizes begin with compact 2-ton mini skips and extend through 4, 6, 8 and 10-ton options. Larger 12, 14 and 16-ton skips, enclosed skips and 20, 30 and 40-yard Roll-on Roll-off containers are available by enquiry.

Still unsure? Call 0151 734 4666 and tell us what you are clearing. We will help you choose an appropriate skip before you book.

Liverpool Skip Hire Prices

Prices for all skip sizes depend on where the container will be positioned. Private-drive prices apply when the skip can be placed entirely on your own land. Road or verge prices include the relevant council permit charge shown for that placement option.

These specialist skip sizes are intended for projects needing secure containment or substantially more capacity than a standard skip.

Enclosed Skips

Enclosed skips can help contain lightweight waste and provide additional control where open access is unsuitable. Availability and suitability depend on your waste, site and required placement.

What Affects the Price of Skip Hire?

The cost of different skip sizes is influenced by capacity, placement, permit requirements and the type of waste being removed.

Skip Size

Larger skips require more capacity, handling and transport, so the chosen size affects the hire price.

Placement

Private-land hire costs less than public-road or verge placement because the latter requires a council permit.

Waste Type

Heavy, restricted or specialist materials may require a particular skip, separate handling or prior approval.

Road and Verge Skip Permits

A skip placed entirely on a private driveway or private land does not normally require a permit. Public-road or verge placement requires approval from the relevant council, and conditions can differ by area. Permit-inclusive prices are listed separately in the synced price table.

Liverpool City Council states that a licence is required for a skip on a public road and that registered skip operators apply on behalf of customers. Read the official Liverpool City Council skip permit guidance.

If you are uncertain whether your intended position is private property, call us before booking.

Skip Sizes and Prices FAQs

Which skip size do I need?

A 2 or 4-ton skip generally suits smaller household and garden jobs. A 6-ton builder’s skip is a popular choice for renovations, while 8 and 10-ton skips offer more capacity for bulky waste. Call us if your project involves heavy materials or you are between two sizes.

Are the prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes. The prices displayed in the Liverpool Skips price table include VAT.

How long is standard skip hire?

Standard hire is for up to seven days. Contact us before booking if your project needs a different arrangement.

Why do road and verge prices cost more?

A skip placed on a public road or verge requires permission from the relevant council. The applicable permit cost is included in the corresponding road or verge price.

Can I fill a large skip entirely with soil or rubble?

Not necessarily. Soil, bricks and rubble are extremely heavy, and larger skips may not be suitable for a full load of dense material. Tell us what you intend to dispose of so we can confirm the right size and loading limit.

Can I load waste above the sides?

No. Every skip must be safely level-loaded, with nothing extending above its sides. An overloaded skip may be unsafe to transport and could result in additional charges or a wasted journey.

Can I arrange same-day or next-day delivery?

Urgent delivery may sometimes be available, but it cannot be guaranteed through standard online booking. Call 0151 734 4666 to check current availability.

How do I get a price for an enclosed or Roll-on Roll-off skip?

Use our contact page or call the team. We will ask about the waste, size required, site access, location and hire arrangements before providing a price.

Before You Book

  • Check that the delivery vehicle can safely access the property.
  • Confirm whether the intended position is private land, road or verge.
  • Read our guide to what can go in a skip.
  • Choose a size with enough space to keep the waste level with the sides.
  • Call before booking if you need urgent delivery or have heavy or unusual waste.
